Crowdfunding For Women And Similar Opportunities

By Alta Alexander

As crowdfunding is a rather new concept, there is a lot to be learned on the part of those establishing campaigns and those providing funds. Those sites dedicated to crowdfunding for women oriented products and services are seeing great success at the moment. One reason being that while all businesses, products and services are established by women, men can also contribute to these campaigns.

As the ideology behind the process is fairly new, there is a lot to be learned. As such, both men and women are now providing presentations and workshops related to this new aspect of funding a project. One of the best ways to learn about this new process is to review a number of campaigns and projects. Some of which can be found on websites like Kickstarter, Pine Alley and others which host projects desiring financial support.

Pine Alley and other similar sites have succeeded at a rate almost double the average of the industry as a whole. While other sites have similar success, Pine Valley is one of a kind in its development, funding and deployment. While the internet is not available in all areas, there are a number of different areas of the world in which these websites are viewed. Ultimately adding to the success rate of those whom have the knowledge and skill base to run a successful campaign.

While these women oriented sites only accept projects posted and managed by women, men and women alike can provide funding, at least on the majority of sites. While men are welcome to participate, most often it is women supporting women which create the most successful outcome.

Whether a dedicated site or one which allows posting and funding by all genders, most offer a clear plan. A plan generally includes step by step instructions from start up through completion of a campaign. A campaign is considered complete once it has been funded and the product or service has been made readily available to the public.

As the websites also benefit financially and with regards to positive reviews, most are happy to share this information free of charge. Although, there are others in which these fees help pay overhead and keep the site in operation. One important aspect on the part of the user, and those running these websites is that the individuals or groups have the necessary knowledge and information to take the campaign from start-up through completion.

If not, the project may never make it past the initial start-up phase. When this is the case, those having donated funds generally expect to have monies refunded. That is, unless there is an upfront agreement which states the individual forfeits such funding even if the project is canceled over time.

Other opportunities for obtaining funding include applying to shows like Shark Tank, or going through traditional banks, credit unions or financial firms to obtain the monies needed for a start-up. While this is the case, not all have the credit or skills necessary to obtain these type funds. As such, crowdfunding has found an online presence which can help others obtain, fund and support various projects.
