Social Networking & The Abuse Certain Celebrities Bring To It

By Rob Sutter

Social networking, in my mind, stands as easily the most valuable tool that you could associate with the last ten years or so. I believe that it has grown into something that very few people could have predicted. What started as something as simple as a way for friends to keep in contact blossomed into something that even big businesses have taken advantage of. Hollywood has brought some of the most notorious figures into the light and it makes me realize if celebrities should be posting as much as they have been.

In simplest terms, a social networking site allows you to showcase who you are. Basically, when you post, you're most likely going to speak in a manner that's most closely related to the way that you verbalize yourself in a real-life situation. For example, some of the sarcastic posts I put up are said jokingly and others know that I mean them in that regard. However, companies such as fishbat can tell you that celebrities, not unlike business, will have each word and action monitored.

Maybe there was news brought up about an event that many regard as a tragedy. If this is the case, then I believe that the ideal course of action for a business to take is to post the most basic message, sending their condolences to those who have been impacted. Sometimes it's the simplest of actions that are able to be the most meaningful. What I do not recommend, though, is embedding an ad to a sales circular because then it shows a lack of genuineness.

Celebrities seem to flock to Twitter in the way that birds do to seeds and I don't think that there's a better comparison to make. Of course, you'll always have comments made on Twitter that make you question why they were made to begin with. For example, Kanye West posted a comment last year in September, saying that Kim Kardashian didn't know what a blessing he was to her. It might have meant more coming from her but him saying such was something that came across as egotistical.

When it comes to implementing social networking, it seems like there are a multitude of ways in which it can be done. Some of them include making use of various tools in order to increase a user base and those whom belong to said group understand when they're being appealed to in the best ways. However, for every right way that this level of networking is done, there are wrong ways and certain stories in Hollywood have shown just how insane it can become. Words hold a lot of weight, especially on the Internet.
