Mobile Ad Revenue Reach 19.3B In 2013

Global mobile display advertising has more than doubled as growth outperforms other formats. According to an IAB report, this growth was fueled by a 124 % increase in ad revenue and 92% in search ads. The continued growth of advertising revenue in 2013 almost doubled the previous year to reach 19.3 billion as reported by IHS Technology and The Interactive Advertising Bureau. In 2012 the total was 10.1 billion and the surge of 92% was driven by an increase of 92.1% in mobile search ads and 123.4% from mobile display ad revenue. Ad revenue from messaging grew by 19.4%, but the leading segment remains search ads at $9.5 billion, which is 48.9% of the total with display ads closing in at 41.5%, $8 billion.



Companies have started to note an increase in how much they are earning from these mobile ads. They believe the revenues have doubled since last year because of how much is being put into the ads. The Interactive Advertising Bureau did a study and found the revenue has doubled since last year and is still trending upwards right now. This growth is not going to be stopping anytime soon because more and more companies are diving head first into this market.

Advertising has constantly been change as time has gone on and this is one of those changes which are going to render offline marketing increasingly obsolete. It is important to note that offline marketing and general Internet marketing still rule the roost when it comes to advertising budgets around the world. Mobile ads are making a difference and putting a dent into these other avenues, but they are still royalty when it comes to leading the pack.

Mobile ads are slowly becoming a very popular advertising method because of the conversion numbers that are coming through. Companies believe these ads have the potential for constant growth which is desirable for any business in the modern age.

These ads are constantly being tweaked to gain more out of the market and this progress will not be slowing down any time soon. The entire industry is valued at $500 billion when it comes to the market. Yet, the growth that is taking place at the moment is definitely causing many people to stop and wonder how good mobile ads really are.

Mobile ad revenues according to the Interactive Advertising Bureau have doubled over the past year which is significant growth. This demonstrates the potential for mobile ads to become the core part of most companies' marketing plans. There is still room for more development as time goes on. While, this growth has been tremendous, it is important to note the growth is just a little toddler at the moment. In the grand scheme of things, most marketing budgets are still pouring funds into other sections including the Internet and offline marketing.
