Tips For Surviving Nursing School

By Hedrick Lepsch

To the unfamiliar eye, Mark Cuban seems to be a maverick among men. That is probably a decently accurate description of him. To every man, there are many sides, and this is the one he tends to let shine out. What is he really like? Who knows? Can anyone but his closest friends, family, and business partners? As with anyone made famous via the media, we get one version of him. So, this is that version. Accurate or not, this is the way he is perceived by most.

Mark began working for his money when he was 12 years old, selling garbage bags door to door so he could buy a pair of expensive sports shoes. In high school, he took on various jobs (everything from bartending to disco instructing - odd, but cool) and left high school early to start college ahead of the pack. He studied in both Pittsburg and later Indiana, graduating with a major in Business Administration. As you can see, his interests were far-ranging and dynamic - a trait that persisted over the years.

Studying everything three hours before your exam may get you passing grades, but little of what you study will be converted into long-term memory. This can be remedied by studying for an hour every day and allowing the material to transfer into your long-term memory. If put into practice, this strategy can help you ace your exams!

Your reach is only as far as your relationships and connections extend. If you lack those connections and friends, then you will find that you are lacking in the ability to really lead and influence, even on a communal level. This becomes very important when you are trying to promote your business, run for a political office, or promote some program in the community. Make sure that you are one of the most involved members in the community because people will be more likely to be involved in your life because they will see that you are proactive.

Relationships are important for any human being. If you aren't staying connected, then you aren't maintaining those relationships. It takes persistence and a sense of commitment to really stay on top of your family and friends. They can bring you the greatest commodity that you are looking for; love. Make sure you are just as ready to love back. Family and friends are your support system that will be there even when all else fails and the truth is, you get out what you put in.

When it comes to networking you better have your ducks in a row because it can reach your family life, your career, your academic endeavors, and your overall influence on society.
