In terms of screen quality, though, both the Kindle Fire HD and the new Google Nexus 7 have better pixel density. The Apple iPad Mini can only muster up 163ppi whereas its competitors are able to boast much more impressive 216ppi screens.
The new iPad also received criticisms because its casing occasionally reached abnormally high temperatures when playing certain games or while plugged in. These temperatures were not considered a safety concern by Consumer Reports, but they are an issue consumers should be aware of before making the investment.
